Peace in the Streets
In any home, business, organization, governmental agency or city; if you want to remove negativity, obstruction, bad energy and unlawful acts you must begin with you. Where there’s no vision the people perish. Charity starts at home. There must be a change of mindset. How can I want my home, my city or home State to be at peace when I’m not at peace with my home, my city or home State? San Antonio and the State of Texas have been in multiple lawsuits. The lawsuits include but are not limited to taxes owed on a city lot, House Bill 2127 and Senate Bill 4. Why wasn’t a phone call made? Did we have the city attorney draft our grievances in a no confrontational manner to resolve the conflict? Why didn’t the mayor, as the leader of the city, create a thesis stating why our leadership feels we are at a disadvantage and here are the recommendations to resolve a potential crisis? How do we create a mutually beneficial relationship with our State government? As mayor of San Antonio, this type of behavior and mindset will cease and desist. Things are best accomplished by inclusion instead of exclusion. Communication built this nation. We will take a militant pacifism approach and fight if fighting is the only path to resolution.
We should be fighting homicides, robberies, thefts, motor vehicle thefts, vandalism, sex offenses, burglaries, assaults and kidnappings. These are the different types of crimes that are prominent is San Antonio. We have a $603 million dollar budget for the San Antonio Police Department. In a 2024 poll our city was the second most dangerous city among other cities in Texas. As mayor, I

will assure the budget is utilized to keep the citizens of San Antonio safe. The community crime map by Lexis Nexis is made available by UTSA’s website under public safety. The map allows law enforcement, officials and citizens to track crime data and analytics throughout our city. Pecan Valley, East Terrell Hills, Arena District, Villa De San Antonio and Westwood Village incite higher crime rates compared to other San Antonio neighborhoods. As mayor, I will put those areas on notice. If I must physically go to these neighborhoods, the crime and deterioration of our safety will cease and desist immediately.
If we want safer neighborhoods, schools and peace in the streets we must establish what I have coined as my “Peace in the Streets Initiative”. The “Peace in the Streets Initiative” is focused on community and zero-tolerance for crime. There are three key precepts to my approach to detour crime and criminals. Those precepts are first, Resolution-intended, where I will offer assistance to modernize and provide what’s needed for the brave men and women to safely and successfully serve each citizen. Second, Root Cause Research, is where I will align us with professional organizations to collect the data to understand the approach, challenges and navigation of violent crimes. Third, Citizen-Centered, is a precept where I will create an alliance between the city, citizens and professional organizations in a preventive measure to promote sound mental health, healing and minimize the growth of crime.
As mayor of San Antonio, I will evaluate where the future is going, create a plan to incorporate measures which are future-focused and maximize our potential. One major element to detour the growth of crime will be impacted by Artificial Intelligence. I believe AI will not replace but simplify the jobs of employees within law enforcement. AI has the potential to predict crime by evaluation of crime data, promote faster response times, and a thorough analysis of crime patterns quicker than humans which will mitigate crime, improve public safety and increase citizen confidence. My goal is to present San Antonio as the safest, most functional and cleanest city to our citizens, tourists and others looking to relocate.
